Wells College women's volleyball junior Jackie Allen earned North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 9, 2018. Allen averaged 4.27 digs per set over three matches at the University of Rochester Invitational.

It was the second-best single-match total in her career following a 31-dig performance in the 2017 season against Plattsburgh. Allen had 47 digs over the weekend, added 30 kills, three block assists and five service aces.
Jackie is a junior from Syracuse, N.Y. She is majoring in Sociology and Anthropology with minors in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies.
This is her first-career weekly award from the NEAC. Allen was an all-conference selection on the NEAC Third Team following her freshman campaign in 2016.
Wells is 2-5 through the early part of the season and begins NEAC play with a match Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at Keuka.
