Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y./Camden) paced the Express with a game high 20 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and seven blocks. The Wildcats controlled the entire first half but the Express continued to hang around, cutting the lead to as little eight, four separate times. Leading 28-20, the Wildcats used a late 9-0 run over the final five minutes of the half to take a commanding 17 point lead (37-20) heading into the break.
SUNY IT continued to hold the Express at bay in the second half, leading by 18 points (56-38) with 8:35 to play. Despite the large deficit, the Express continued to play hard. Ryan drilled three 3-pointers and a lay-up by Roser would cut the lead to ten (59-49) with 1:39 to play. The run would be the last for the Express as the Wildcats held on over the final minute of play to earn the conference victory.
The Express return to action on Wednesday evening against NEAC opponent SUNY Morrisville with the game set to tip at 5 p.m. in Morrisville.
