AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's volleyball team averaged 2.20 service aces per set across 95 sets played in 2014, leading all qualifying NCAA Division III teams in that statistic. The Express wrapped up their best season in 2014, posting a 16-11 overall record in only their third season as a varsity program.
En route to winning the College's first-ever team statistical title, three Wells student-athletes placed nationally within the top-40 in service aces per set. Sophomore John Farruggia (Leonardsville, N.Y.) placed third with 0.60 service aces per set while freshman Liam Kaylor (Falls Church, Va.) averaged 0.42 per set to rank 24th. Sophomore J.J. Podczasy (Macungie, Pa.) was 40th in the nation with an average of 0.39 aces per set.
