(Aurora, N.Y.)─ The SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers held Wells College to 16 points in the first half en route to a 52-34 victory over the Express in North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball action Thursday evening in Aurora. The Express scored the game's first bucket but Cobleskill built a seven point lead (11-4) midway through the first half and led by as many as 11 points before closing the half with a 25-16 lead.
Wells trimmed the lead to six (28-22), on two free throws by Roser and lay-up by Kristen Ryan early in the second half but, the six point deficit would be as close as the Express would come as the Fighting Tigers played a tight defense the rest of the way, cruising to the late season conference victory.
The Express return to action on Saturday afternoon against NEAC opponent SUNY IT with the game set to tip at 1 p.m. in Aurora.
