The Wells College men's volleyball team completed its weekend of NEAC matches with two wins and a loss in matches hosted by Penn State Altoona on March 18 and 19. In Saturday's match, Wells fell in five sets against Penn State Altoona. On Sunday, Wells defeated Wilson College in three sets and Lancaster Bible College in four sets. With the victory over Lancaster Bible, Wells moved into a second-place tie in the NEAC standings. Wells is 12-10 overall and 8-3 in the NEAC. The Express continues conference action and returns to the court Wednesday, March 22 at Keuka College at 7 p.m.
Penn State Altoona 3, Wells 2
Wells won the second and third sets, but ultimately fell in five sets against first-place Penn State Altoona. Set scores were 25-21, 21-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-13. Caden O'Loughlin led Wells with 20 kills and Brannon Perdicho had 17. Scott Litvin had 30 assists and Josh Undari added 21. Wells hit .197 for the match. O'Loughlin served four aces. Three players hit double-figures in digs as Perdicho had 14, O'Loughlin had 13 and Undari had 11. Jonathan Haines had two solo blocks and three block assists.
Wells 3, Wilson 0
Set scores were 25-21, 25-17, 29-27 as Wells started Sunday's action with a decisive win. The Express took advantage of 31 hitting errors from Wilson. Brannon Perdicho had 11 kills, Caden O'Loughlin had 10. Josh Undari had five service aces and 14 assists. Scott Litvin had 13 assists. O'Loughlin led Wells with 15 digs and Kevin Batmunkh had 13. Ryan Turner had two solo blocks and three block assists.
Wells 3, Lancaster Bible 1
Wells avenged a loss earlier this season against Lancaster Bible and moved into a second-place tie with the Chargers. Lancaster Bible won the opening set 25-19, but Wells answered back by winning the next three sets 25-16, 25-22, 25-21.
Wells attacked efficiently over the final three sets with 41 kills and just nine errors. Wells hit .242 for the match. Perdicho led Wells with 15 kills and just six errors. O'Loughlin had 12 kills and four errors. Undari had 24 assists and Litvin had 21. O'Loughlin led Wells with 10 digs.
